I began my carving journey in northern Thailand during a motorbike trip to Myanmar. We spent the night in a small carving village, and the next morning, I discovered a group of people sitting in a circle, carving. They invited me to join them, shared some beginner techniques, and in that moment, I fell in love with the art of woodcarving. As I continued my travels, I noticed that every culture had its own carving traditions, so I began carrying a set of chisels everywhere i went. Since 2006, I've had the joy of carving and learning from master carvers in places like Mexico, the Pacific Northwest U.S., Tanzania, Korea, Taiwan, and now Indonesia, where I continue to learn and carve alongside the locals.
